The second in a series of round table discussions related to Croatian emigrant communities was held April 8th at the National and University Library in Zagreb in the frame of the Croatica Abroad collection. The round table was moderated by the head of the Croatica Abroad collection Željka Lovrenčić DSc.
The guest speaker was Vesna Kukavica MSc, a Zagreb-based culture professional and journalist and head of the Croatian Heritage Foundation’s publishing department. The event also featured the presentation of her latest book Networked Identities (Umreženi identiteti).
Also on hand for the round table were Petar Barišić, deputy head of the State Office for Croats Abroad, the priest Josip Bebić, director of the office for the faithful abroad in the Catholic Church in Croatia, writers Đuro Vidmarović and Stjepan Šešelj, Kroatische Berichte editor Stjepan Šulek, the director of the Croatian Centre for Children’s Books Ranka Javor, staffers with the Croatian Heritage Foundation and with the National and University Library in Zagreb. Kukavica spoke of her books and of the work of the Croatian Heritage Foundation.Vesna Kukavica has served as the editor of the Croatian Emigrant Almanac since 2000 and has edited a further thirty books and brochures. A selection from her many publications as author and editor was exhibited at the round table venue.
