Participating in the event to discuss topics related to the Year of Croatian Greats in Vojvodina will be staffers of the Hungarian Croatian Institute of Sciences—director Tomislav Žigmanov and culture activities manager Katarina Čeliković.
The Hungarian Croatian Institute of Sciences and the department for Croatistics of the Institute for Slavic Studies of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Pécs organises a biennial Croaticist symposium. This year’s XI International Croaticist Symposium will be staged on 12 and 13 October in Pécs.
The symposium will feature presentations on the topics of literature, language, history and the culture of Bunjevac Croatians (the 150th anniversary of the birth of A. E. Miroljub, the 100th anniversary of the births of Ante Jakšić, Balint Vujkov and Ivan Kujundžić), the 20th anniversary of the Croatian Theatre House in Pécs and research in the field of literary science, linguistics, history and culture history. The lectures will be published as a special collection.

The symposium kicks off on Friday 12 October 2012 at 11 am at the premises of the Regional Centre of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA Pécsi Területi Bizottság Székháza, Pécs, Jurisics M. u. 44.), and will close with a joint luncheon on Saturday 13 October around 2 pm.
