Dear friends of Croatian cultural heritage!
We invite you to take part in the new Croatian Heritage Foundation programme—Heritage Alphabet—which will be carried out during 2024.
PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION:
The Heritage Alphabet is a project that will include 30 representations (stage, live-action, video, photo, animation, etc.) of concepts of Croatian traditional cultural heritage according to the letters of the Croatian alphabet. Each letter represents one element the name of which begins with that letter (e.g. B for ‘balun’, D for ‘Dužijanca’, LJ for ‘ljelje’, etc.). The project is open to six different folklore associations, groups, ensembles, houses, Catholic missions, etc.; five from outside Croatia and one from within Croatia. Each selected participant will present five concepts of Croatian traditional cultural heritage according to randomly chosen letters. The project is primarily digital, as the presentations will be published on the website, social media and in the Matica magazine at agreed weekly intervals.
APPLICATION:
Selection criteria: Each association must send its proposal of FIVE terms to be displayed according to one of the six letter groups available for selection in the application form. The letter groups are drawn up by randomly selecting letters via the randomwordgenerator.com website. In addition to the five terms by specific letter groups, each group can propose TWO terms starting with letters from other letter groups. The most creative and best proposals, as selected by the jury, will be included in the project. The terms may relate to folklore, ethnochoreological heritage, gastronomic heritage, sacred heritage, old crafts, elements of folk costume, customs, etc.

AUTHOR FEES:
Each group selected to participate in the project will sign a copyright contract for their works and will receive an author fee of €200 per group.
