Thirty-nine pupils from Uzlop, Trajštof, Štikapron, Matrštof, Klimpuh, Željezno, Gornja Pulja, Celindof and Vorištan visited Varaždin and Zagreb before heading out to the island of Krk.

Secondary school pupils from seven schools in the Gradišće (Burgenland) region in Austria are spending this week in Croatia. They are making the trip to learn about the cultural, architectural and folklore heritage of Croatia, and to socialise and enjoy the waters of the Adriatic Sea.
Thirty-nine pupils from Uzlop (Oslip), Trajštof (Trausdorf), Štikapron (Steinbrunn), Matrštof (Mattersburg), Klimpuh (Klingenbach), Željezno (Eisenstadt), Gornja Pulja (Oberpullendorf), Celindof (Zillingtal) and Vorištan (Hornstein) visited Varaždin and Zagreb before heading out to the island of Krk.
On the island they will be accompanied by their teachers Angelika Kornfeind, Ivan Rotter and Andreja Radoš on their visits to the towns of Vrbosko, Krk and Baška.
At the Croatian Heritage Foundation they were received on June 17th by the heads of the departments and sections and an informative PowerPoint presentation on CHF programmes led by the head of the Emigrant Communities Information Department Mirjana Piskulić (mirjana@matis.hr), assisted with the translation into German by Ms Kornfeind.
We hope that they will take wonderful memories of Croatia with them upon their return to the Gradišće region and perhaps will in the next summer themselves participate in one of the CHF programmes.
