Following a successful showing in the Czech capital of Prague an exhibition featuring Stjepan Radić opened on 6 September at the new city hall building in the southern Czech city of Brno. The exhibition celebrates the 150th anniversary of the birth of this Croatian statesman. The exhibition is organised by Lidija Kovařik, managing director of the Illusion Art Museum of Prague, the municipal museum of the Croatian town of Sisak, the Radić Brothers Culture Centre, and the Croatian-Czech Society, with the support of the Croatian embassy in Prague and Brno mayor Markéta Vaňková.

The exhibition showcases Croatian statesman and writer Stjepan Radić, the man and the mission, in terms of his impact on creating bridges between Czech and Croatian culture, promoting Czech values in Croatia, and details from his life and time and the customs of his native region.

On hand for the opening of the Brno showing was our ambassador to the Czech Republic Ms Ljiljana Pancirov in her capacity as the representative of Croatian culture and media minister Ms Obuljen Koržinek. Ms Pancirov thanked the city of Brno for the assistance provided to Croatia in the wake of the recent earthquakes in the Sisak region. The aid has once again reaffirmed the robust friendship between Croatia and the Czech Republic and the great value of Croatian-Czech cultural bridges. Ms Pancirov also conveyed the greetings and support of the exhibition of Zvonko Milas, the state secretary leading the State Office for Croats Abroad. (http://cz.mvep.hr/hr/)
