The culture centre in Orašje is working on founding an Ivo Gregurević memorial house that would feature exhibits from the legacy of this great actor, reports the local Posavina portal (https://posavina.org/).
“Talks are underway with the heir on the purchase of Gregurević’s old family home in Donja Mahala that would, if the purchase goes through, become a museum of sorts that would permanently nurture the legacy of Ivo Gregurević and his massive achievements as an artist,” said the acting director of the centre Mandica Živković.
If his heir decides, however, to hold on to the family home, with which he has a special bond, the Gregurević legacy will be exhibited at the Vrata Bosne county museum at the monastery in Tolisa.
“During the course of this year the Orašje Culture Centre, with the support of the government of Posavski County, has purchased from the heir, Ivo’s son Marko, most of Ivo Gregurević’s movable legacy. A special part of this collection are over thirty prizes and awards, including six Golden Arena awards won at the Pula Film Festival,” Ms Živković said.
She noted that a monument cast in bronze last year by sculptor Ante Jurkić has been installed at Orašje’s Novi Park. This, she added, was financed by the culture and sports ministry of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Council of Ministers of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Gregurević was an inspiration to many, Živković notes. Even after his early death his original spirit lives on and inspires us.
