Čapljina-born Ante Brkić has sculpted a number of public monuments in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina and has staged eight solo and a great number of group exhibitions in the country and abroad.
An exhibition of the work of Bosnia-Herzegovinian painter Ante Brkić opens at the Gallery of the Dubrovnik branch office of the Croatian Heritage Foundation at No. 7 Petilovrijenci at 12 noon of October 23rd.
“The paintings of Ante Brkić radiate the love, perseverance and dedication required for a lifetime of work as a painter and sculptor, which has, in the final tally, resulted in an enviable number of paintings, public monuments and a number of solo exhibitions. Ante Brkić was born in Čapljina in 1949. He graduated from the Fine Arts Academy of Sarajevo in 1976. He sculpted a number of public monuments in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. To date he has staged eight solo and a great number of group exhibitions in the country and abroad. He is the recipient of ten domestic and international prizes. He has participated in over fifty domestic and international painting and sculpting colonies. He lives and works in Čapljina. He is the head of the International Art Colony in Počitelj and the president of the Čapljina chapter of Matrix Croatica.
