Composer, music producer and performing artist Nenad Bach was recognised for his forty years of work as an artist in the music industry and for his contribution to the music scene and promoting Croatian music abroad.
Josipa Lisac, Nenad Bach, Robert Funčić, Hladno pivo, Jovanka Bukvić ‘Josie’ and Mladen Magud (posthumously) are the recipients of the 2017 Croatian Musicians Union (HGU) award.
The decision on the awards for individual and group achievements for 2017 was made by the HGU central committee, the organisation announced on the 22nd of November. The winners of the individual awards are Josipa Lisac (Zagreb), Nenad Bach (Rijeka/New York) and Robert Funčić (Rijeka).
Singer Josipa Lisac received the award for her fifty years of work as a recording artist and for her exceptional contribution to Croatian music.

Composer and producer Robert Funčić was recognised with the HGU award for his four decades of work as an artist in the music industry and for his contribution to the music scene.
The HGU 2017 award for group achievements went to Zagreb-based rock group Hladno pivo, celebrating the thirtieth year of its work.
Split-based guitarist and studio musician Mladen Magud (1963–2016) was recognised posthumously with the 2017 Croatian Musicians Union award for his contribution to the music profession and to the Croatian music industry.
Also rewarded for her contribution to the music industry and in promoting Croatian music in 2017 was Rijeka’s Jovanka “Josie” Bukvić, who runs the Dallas music store, an oasis of good sounds in Rijeka.
This year’s awards will be presented at a ceremony celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Croatian Musicians Union at the small auditorium of Zagreb’s Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall at 8 PM on the 7th of December, the HGU announced.
