Organized by the Croatian Heritage Foundation – Dubrovnik Branch, the Croatian-Austrian Society of Dubrovnik, and the Dubrovnik Diocese, the international project Music That Connects – Dubrovnik Choir Tour 2026 once again confirmed the power of music to connect the Croatian diaspora and homeland.
On Friday, July 17, 2026, in the unique space of the Church of St. Blaise in Dubrovnik, a concert was held as part of the international cultural and musical project Music That Connects – Dubrovnik Choir Tour 2026, bringing together singers from Austria’s Burgenland and Croatia.
The Croatian Heritage Foundation – Dubrovnik Branch, the Croatian-Austrian Society Dubrovnik, and the Dubrovnik Diocese organized the concert, confirming their shared commitment to promoting cultural cooperation and connecting Croatian emigrants with their homeland through art and music.

Under the artistic direction of the Croatian conductor from Split, Mo Giuseppe Terza, members of five Austrian choirs performed: Fischamend City Choir, Pro Musica Haslau-Maria Ellend Choir, Open Hearts Women’s Choir Vienna, Speising Wien Orthopedic Hospital Employees’ Choir and Ottakringer Liedertafel – Bäckers Wien Men’s Choir.
As special guests, Dubrovnik singer-songwriter Josip Čenić (with a Viennese address) performed his original song Jedna je Hrvatska (There’s Only One Croatia), followed by several original compositions in solo performance, and pianist Kamilė Zaveckaitė, who further enriched the concert program with her performance.

The concert in Parčeva Crkva (church of St. Blaise) was the culmination of a multi-day tour, during which the participants, along with concert performances in Trsteno and Split, became acquainted with the beauties of southern Croatia and the Bay of Kotor.
The project Music That Connects – Dubrovnik Choir Tour 2026 has demonstrated that the joint musicianship of Austrian and Croatian musicians represents an important contribution to international cooperation with the message, Music knows no borders – it connects people, nations and hearts, and certainly, with concerts in the south of Our Beautiful Homeland, it has connected diaspora and homeland Croatia.
