A monograph by this respected Croatian painter living in Italy was presented at the premises of the Dubrovnik branch office of the CHF. On hand to present the work was the author, joined by academician Tonko Maroević and art historian Marin Ivanović. An exhibition of his paintings from the Spirit of Childhood series was also opened on the occasion.
A monograph by Emil Bobanović Čolić, a respected Croatian painter living in Italy, was presented at the premises of event organiser the Dubrovnik branch office of the Croatian Heritage Foundation on 29 September. An exhibition of his paintings from the Spirit of Childhood series was also opened on the occasion.
On hand to present the monograph was the author, joined by academician Tonko Maroević and art historian Marin Ivanović. Painter Emil Bobanović Čolić was born in Kuna on the Pelješac peninsula in 1926. He worked for many years as an art teacher in Labin. He attended secondary school in Krk and graduated from the Fine Arts School (in the class of professor Kaštelančić) in Split. He graduated painting at the Teacher’s Academy in Zagreb under professor Mladen Veža and literature under Dr. Marin Franičević.
He has staged solo exhibitions since 1962 and has to date held exhibitions in a number of major galleries in Croatia, Italy, Germany, Poland, Russia, France, South Africa, Bulgaria and Austria. At the 2001 Biennale internazionale dell’arte contemporanea global exhibition in Florence he received the Lorenzo il Magnifico medal and a Diploma in the selection of sculptures. He has also been the recipient of numerous other recognitions. He is a member of the Zagreb and Rijeka chapters of the Croatian Association of Artists and of the International Academy of Modern Art (AIAM) in Rome. He lives and works in Croatia (Kuna, Trstenik, Labin, Zagreb) and Italy (Monza, Milan).
