The event included a video presentation authored by Branka Bezić Filipović on the decades of collaboration and love between Hajduk and Croatian emigrant communities and Skype link-ups with friends of Hajduk associations in the United States of America, Canada and Ecuador.
Many Split natives and visiting guests toured the Night of the Museums event staged at the Hajduk football (soccer) club’s Poljud stadium on the 26th of January. There was a constant flow of people from 6 o’clock that evening through the halls and hallways of the Poljud stadium building. For many families the stunning Poljud stadium was the first stop on the Night of the Museums event and the opening hours of this now traditional event were filled with the joyous clamour of children. The visitors were delighted with the trophy room and fascinated by the worthy details of Hajduk’s rich history.
At exactly 7:11 o’clock that evening the Croatian Heritage Foundation hosted a programme titled Znači nan on puno više nego ča u foje piše (“It means much more to us than what the newspapers say”). The programme included a video presentation authored by Branka Bezić Filipović on the decades of collaboration and love between Hajduk and Croatian emigrant communities, many fascinating details shared with the viewers by Gerard Denegri, the first honorary consul of France, and by Ante Zonzi Ivković, a former player with the club. Skype link-ups were aired with friends of Hajduk associations in the United States of America, Canada and Ecuador.
The programme opened with a welcome address from HNK Hajduk supervisory board member Marko Erceg, while the video projection included a recorded message from Hajduk CEO Ivan Kos, currently in Turkey.
After the close of the CHF hosted programme the many visitors enjoyed a tour of the trophy rooms, a screening of Mate Prlić’s documentary film 1950, which covers the events of one of the high points in the history of Split’s beloved Hajduk football club, with a special visual delight in a tour of the VIP lodge and the spotlighted club crest.
A total of 4,870 people visited the Poljud stadium for the Night of the Museums event—Hajduk and its rich history and the monumental and stunningly beautiful Poljud stadium once again proved to be a real magnet for visitors.
