In August the CHF will organise the presentation of Ana Stražičić Rodrigez’s (aka Ana Mljećka) book, The Traditional Croatian Cuisine of the Dubrovnik Region. The author has roots in the island of Mljet and has lived for years in New York with her family.
Many people who trace their origins to the city of Dubrovnik and now live abroad are visiting the city these days. They always enjoy visiting the Dubrovnik branch office of the Croatian Heritage Foundation where, between socialising and discussion, many projects and ideas are hammered out for this and the coming year.
One opportunity for a gathering with Dubrovnians from the communities abroad is the upcoming presentation of Ana Stražičić Rodrigez’s (aka Ana Mljećka) book, The Traditional Croatian Cuisine of the Dubrovnik Region, in our city. The author has roots in the island of Mljet and has lived for years in New York with her family: husband Luis Albert Rodriguez, a native of Puerto Rico, daughter Michelle Ramonita and daughter Albert Ilija.
Ana Mljećka’s book The Traditional Croatian Cuisine of the Dubrovnik Region was promoted in New York in July of this year at the Dubrovnik Restaurant, owned by Željko Tomić – himself a native of the island of Lopud.
This unique book, penned in Croatian and English, grew out of the author’s love of her homeland, the city of Dubrovnik and her native Mljet and promotes healthy Mediterranean eating and our traditions and way of life, with many illustrations. Veljko Barbijeri, one of Croatia’s leading culinary pundits will present the book at an event organised by the Dubrovnik branch office of the Croatian Heritage Foundation and the Orsan Sailing Club and hosted by the Orsan Restaurant.
