2013 Croatian Emigrant Almanac presented

The Croatian Emigrant Almanac has, from year to year, developed into a modern publication targeted to the heterogeneous communities of the millions of Croatian living abroad, offered in Croatia with summaries in English and Spanish. Thanks to the efforts of editor Vesna Kukavica for the past fourteen years it has also included an electronic version available on the CHF portal.

 

Croatian delegation visits Skopje

The Croatian delegation consisted of CHF director Marin Knezović, CHF legal department head Diana Mašala Perković, and representatives of the Municipality of Rešetari: municipal mayor Zlatko Aga, council president Milka Perković, head of the Rešetari Literary & Art Society Ivan De Villa and teacher Ivana Prakaturović. The Croatian delegation was warmly received by hosts Ilinden Mayor Žika Stojanovski and his associates.

 

 

Double issue of Matica magazine available

The January and February double issue features articles the results of the last census, the 20th anniversary of Operation Maslenica, the induction of klapa singing into the UNESCO world heritage list, the demolition of a historical Croatian church in Pittsburgh and much, much more.

 

 

Katarina Abović Oyarzun exhibition in Dubrovnik

An exhibition entitled Two Homelands (Dos patrias) featuring the work of this young Chilean of Croatian roots was organised during the St Blaise (Sveti Vlaho) festivities in the city and opened by CHF director Marin Knezović. She has been in Croatia since early last year studying on a Croatian language scholarship at the University of Zagreb’s Faculty of the Humanities and Social Sciences.
