Signing ceremonies were staged in Tuzla, Sarajevo and Mostar on the 11th and 12th of July for 350 scholarships for Croatian nationals of Bosnia-Herzegovina enrolling into universities in the country.

Speaking before the students the head of the Croatian Government’s State Office for Croats Abroad Zvonko Milas underlined the importance of education and how it, together with the creation of new jobs, was critical to Croatians remaining, i.e. surviving, in this region.

Since its inception the State Office for Croats Abroad has continued to improve its scholarship system – from establishing measurable criteria to the constant growth in the size of monthly scholarship instalments. The scholarship offers HRK 700 per month for a period of ten months.

The State Office for Croats Abroad has granted a total of 450 scholarships in the 2015/16 academic year for enrolment in or the continuation of full time studies, of which 350 scholarships are for people studying in Bosnia-Herzegovina and 100 for those studying in Croatia.
