The competition for the Petar Miloš Literary Prize was announced by the Croatian Writers’ Association Herzeg-Bosnia in cooperation with the Tomislavgrad Cultural Information Center, as posted on the DHKHB website.
The Petar Miloš Award is presented for a short story. Each author may only enter one story up to 10,000 characters in length (including spaces).
Submissions must be original and unpublished; stories previously published in any form (print, internet, audio…) and created with the help of artificial intelligence will be disqualified.
The story, signed with a code, must be sent to the email address: natjecajpetarmilos@gmail.com, with an attachment stating: first and last name of the author, address, email address, phone/mobile number and a short biography.
The Croatian Writers’ Association Herzeg-Bosnia will appoint a committee composed of writers and/or literary critics to select the three best stories whose authors, in addition to receiving a plaque, will be financially rewarded.
The award ceremony will take place during the Petar Miloš Days in Tomislavgrad at the end of August 2026. Authors of awarded stories who do not attend the award ceremony will receive their plaque by mail, while the prize money will be paid to the Kap ljubavi Spiritual-Humanitarian Association Tomislavgrad.
The organizers reserve the right to publish award-winning stories in their editions without any additional compensation to the authors.
The competition is open for thirty days from the date of publication.
