The May issue of Matica magazine is, once again, full of content from all over the world. May is the month in which we celebrate Statehood Day. Moreover, in the year in which we are celebrating the 1100th anniversary of the Croatian Kingdom, Croatia is also celebrating 35 years of statehood. We have numerous reasons to be happy and proud. In this issue of Matica magazine, we spoke with the Pribanić sisters. Antonia and Matea are young Croatian artists living in America and conquering the world with their talent. We also bring you an interview with Lidija Ortloff, an inspirational Croat living for years in America and helping Croatian students enroll in prestigious Harvard University. With a series of events, The Society of Brethren of the Croatian Dragon is marking the 1100th anniversary of the Croatian Kingdom, while in Budapest, a ceremonious event was held for the anniversary of Croatica – an institution striving to preserve the identity of Croats in Hungary. In La Paz, visitors to the international fair had the opportunity to learn more about Our Beautiful Homeland because the Croatian community presented itself with local products. Marijan Lipovac, in a wonderful feature, reveals interesting facts about Katarina Zrinski – the uncrowned Croatian queen, and Valentina Gulin Zrnić takes you on a walk through Zagreb’s squares.
