In the new issue of Matica we present the story of the St Martin’s Way, one of the European cultural routes of the Council of Europe, which is receiving increasing attention in cultural, scientific and, above all, tourist terms, as it is one of the starting points for the development of cultural tourism. It is interesting to note that out of the 48 routes certified so far, 21 pass through Croatia. The Minister for Demography and Immigration, Ivan Šipić, gave a major interview to the magazine, detailing plans to improve the birth rate in Croatia and the strategy to increase immigration of Croatian descendants and the return of Croatian emigrants. Also speaking for Matica was Igor Štagljar, a distinguished scholar who has had an impressive career in some of the world’s leading institutions, and reports from many Croatian communities around the world; in Oslo, Gavran Theatre guest performed in a concert organised by the Croatian Community in Norway, and in Buenos Aires, the Little School of Croatian Language celebrated its 70th birthday. There is still a lot to come, so enjoy reading!
