Twenty Years of the Art Workshop at the Sveta Ana Orphanage Exhibition Opens

An exhibition featuring the work coming out of the Sveta Ana orphanage in the northeastern Croatian town of Vinkovci opened at the Croatian Heritage Foundation headquarters on the 6th of September focusing on twenty years of the Sveta Ana Art Workshop. On hand at the opening of the exhibition to speak about this exhibition were the CHF’s associate for culture Ms Nives Antoljak and Mr Krešo Marić, a staffer with the Vinkovci municipal museum. Mr Marić has worked with the CHF for many years and was the initiator of this exhibition. Also on hand to speak of the creation and value of the exhibited work were the head of the Sveta Ana orphanage Ms Melita Pavošević and academy educated painter Mr Frane Radak, speaking as a participant of the exhibition.
At the opening were representatives of the social policy and youth ministry, advisor to the minister Ms Suzana Horvat Kutle, the minister’s envoy Ms Bernardica Juretić and Ms Stela Franjić representing the mayor of the City of Zagreb.
According to Sveta Ana orphanage director Pavošević this exhibition was first presented in December of 2015 at the Slavko Kopač art gallery in Vinkovci and showcases the best work by recognised artists, featuring seventy-four paintings and one sculpture. Collaborating on this exhibition were specialists with the Vinkovci municipal museum and academy educated painter Ivan Križanac, who also served as the selector of works.
Performing music from the region at the opening programme was the Lisinski Women’s Vocal Ensemble out of Vinkovci. The exhibition was declared open by CHF acting director Ms Mirjana Ana-Maria Piskulić.
The Sveta Ana orphanage of Vinkovci art exhibition will be open for viewing to the end of September 2016.
