The St Blaise in Contemporary Art exhibition opened at the Marin Držić Theatre as part of the 2014 13th Dubrovnik Festa. The event is organised by the Festa Dubrovnik association, the Croatian Heritage Foundation and the Sebastian Art Gallery.
As was noted on the Croatian Heritage Foundation Internet site, artists were invited to participate in the St Blaise in Contemporary Art exhibition. The works were judged by a panel. The theme of works is the image and celebration of the patron saint of Dubrovnik, St Blaise (Sveti Vlaho), and the deadline for applications was early January 2014.
The panel of judges included Academy educated painter Josip Škerlj, art historian Antun Karaman DSc and Marin Ivanović. A total of seventy-eight works were submitted – forty-six of which were selected for the exhibition.
The exhibition venue is the lobby of the Marin Držić Theatre and the Sebastian Art Gallery in Dubrovnik. (http://dubrovacki.hr/clanak/59414/otvorena-izlozba-sveti-vlaho-u-suvremenoj-umjetnosti)
