Festival organisers the Croatian Culture Association of Switzerland, the Vukovar branch office of the Croatian Heritage Foundation and the Matrix Croatica chapters in Vinkovci and Vukovar staged a rich event programme.

The third annual Organum Cibalae organ festival closed on the 3rd of September in the northeastern Croatian town of Vinkovci with an evening organ concert at St Vincent Pallotti church featuring Jan Antun Valenćik, Dragan Trajer and the local Stretta vocal ensemble.
From August 31st to the 3rd of September the festival organisers – the Croatian Culture Association of Switzerland, the Vukovar branch office of the Croatian Heritage Foundation and the Matrix Croatica chapters in Vinkovci and Vukovar – staged a rich event programme
Vinkovci’s third annual Organum Cibalae organ festival opened with a celebration of the Catholic mass at Vukovar’s Sts Philip and James church led by the local parish vicar Matija Marijić and featuring the singing of the local parish St Cecilia choir and their guests, the members of the mixed St Cecilia choir of Vinkovci’s Sts Eusebius and Pollio church, accompanied on the organ by Mirela Štraub and conducted by Dubravka Vukovarac. The local parish priest and guardian Ivica Jagodić was also on hand to welcome everyone. The mass was followed by an organ concert performed by Edmund Borić Andler.
Day two of the festival opened at Vinkovci’s Church of St Nicholas the Bishop. The local parish priest Stjepan Podboj welcomed the gathered. An organ concert was then performed by the festival initiator, musician, organ player, composer and Croatian Culture Association of Switzerland president Ivan Matarić.
Day three of the festival saw an organ workshop for church organ players led by Mr Matarić at Vinkovci’s St Vincent Pallotti church. Matarić performed another concert that evening at the Church of St Anthony of Padua in the small town of Otok.
The Vinkovci organ festival emerged as the fruit of the long-standing friendship and collaboration of Croatian Culture Association of Switzerland president Ivan Matarić, the festival initiator, the head of the Vukovar branch office of the Croatian Heritage Foundation Silvio Jergović and the president of the Vinkovci chapter of Matrix Croatica Dražen Švagelj.
