Matica Magazine: Double Issue

3 Min Read

Figures and events in focus include Chile’s president-elect Gabriel Boric Font, the life and work of recently deceased eminent Croatian historian Ivan Čizmić, Vladimir Peter Goss’ excellent review of Božo Skoko’s Strateško komuniciranje država (“Strategic State Communication”), and a look at the work of artist Slavko Kopač, currently featured at a Zagreb exhibition.

Dear reader, the first issue of Matica magazine in 2022, traditionally an expanded double issue, celebrates the thirtieth anniversary of Croatia’s international recognition, with our cover art and a number of reports detailing this memorable moment in our recent history. This issue also marks the launch of a new series on Croatia’s mountains with an in-depth look at Mount Medvednica.

Our latest issue also offers a broad range of articles, current events and news out of the ethnic Croatian communities, clubs and associations abroad. We also take this opportunity to wish Ljerka Galic all the best in her retirement. Her distinct and subtle touch as editor over the past three years have enriched Matica magazine’s content. Željko Rupić, who has worked with the magazine in the capacity of associate, will now take up the role of editing Matica.
