Program intended for secondary school children that, in addition to local young artists, wants to include children from the diaspora
We invite you to the FERDO KOVAČ International Art Colony, organized by the Rodoč Croatian Cultural and Artistic Society and the Croatian Heritage Foundation, in the natural ambiance of the source of the Jasenice River – Bezdan (BiH)- from June 15 to 19, 2026. The four-day program, intended for secondary school children and local and regional young artists, also aims to include children from the diaspora.

Workshop venue: Rodoč – Mostar, BiH
Transportation: Participants organize their own transportation to and from Mostar
Accommodation: Program participants will be accommodated at the Dompes Hotel in Mostar. Accommodation and meals are covered by the organizers.

Project program:
Day 1 – The program includes the opening of the Art Colony, a visit to the gallery and artistic legacy of Ferdo Kovač, a visit to Rodoč, a visit to the Old-Timer Museum, a visit to the“Vedri osmijeh” Association for Children with Special Needs and a visit to the necropolis of stelae in Rodoč and the ethno house of Zoran Ćorić.
Day 2 – The second day is entirely dedicated to spending time and creating art in the natural environment of the source of the Jasenica River – Bezdan, with an emphasis on free, authentic artistic expression and on nature as a fundamental source of inspiration.
Day 3 – Morning tour of Mostar, visit to the library of the Franciscan monastery, becoming acquainted with the cultural, historical and spiritual heritage of the city. Afternoon continuation of creative work at the Bezdan location, where the final touches are added to the works and prepared for the final exhibition.
Day 4 – The day begins with a tour of Međugorje and the final exhibition of created artworks in the Gallery of the University of Mostar – Rodoč Campus.
