Evening of poetry in Ljubljana

The promotion of Croatian Culture Society of Ljubljana member Katica Pavkić Špiranec’s book The Broad Spirit of the Slavonians included the participation of the HKDU Novo Mesto – Hrvatski Pleter vocal ensemble, MFD Ljubljana – Fijolice vocal ensemble, HKDM Ljubljana – Đilkoši instrumental ensemble and guest poets Magdalena Teufel from Đakovo and Stipe Cvitan from Piran.

A promotion of the book Široka duša slavonska (The Broad Spirit of the Slavonians) by Croatian Culture Society of Ljubljana member Katica Pavkić Špiranec staged on the 20th of November at the Sonček Šiška Centre included the participation of the HKDU Novo Mesto – Hrvatski Pleter vocal ensemble, MFD Ljubljana – Fijolice vocal ensemble, HKDM Ljubljana – Đilkoši instrumental ensemble and guest poets Magdalena Teufel from Đakovo and Stipe Cvitan from Piran. The Croatian Rose (Ruža Hrvatska) section staged a handicraft exhibition for the event.
On hand were the presidents of three Croatian associations: Vladimir Pobežin of HKUD Novo Mesto, Ivan Car of MFD Ljubljana and Stjepan Šimunić of HKDM Ljubljana. Visiting guests were Croatian Heritage Foundation director Marin Knezović and CHF secretary Diana Mašala Perković from Zagreb and Krešimir Mahečić, minister plenipotentiary at the Croatian Embassy in Ljubljana.
We wish to thank HKD Ljubljana president Petar Antunović and vice president Ante Pandža, event moderator Milan Pavelić, reciters Ankica Pavelić, Dražena Pandža, Franjo Magaš and Matija Plavša and Anica Strbad for her stunning handicrafts adorning the hall. The event was recorded by Miro Kosanović, Ivo Botteri and Milan Kajić.
Evenings such as this show that the Croatian tree grows successfully under Slovenian skies and bears good fruit.
