The focus of the meeting was on the preparations for the upcoming 52nd CFU Junior Tamburitza Festival, to be staged in Zagreb this summer and organised by the Croatian Heritage Foundation. Fifteenth Croatian Fraternal Union folklore ensembles from the United States of America will be taking part in the festival, joined by one ensemble from Croatia.
Some 1,500 to 2,000 guests are expected to arrive from the USA as part of the event, most of which will take part in organised tours of Croatia prior to or following the festival events.
Director Marić noted how important our collaboration with the Croatian Fraternal Union – the largest and oldest organisation among the Croatian communities abroad – is and thanked our guest for the confidence the CFU has shown in selecting the CHF as its festival organisation partner. Mr Marić accepted the invitation of Luketich-Sikaras to visit the CFU home office in Pittsburgh.
