During the meeting with CHF Director Zdeslav Milas, M.Sc., an agreement was made to cooperate on the project Stoljeće iseljavanja Hrvata u Brazil (A Century of Emigration of Croats to Brazil)
After thirty years, the Croatian Heritage Foundation was visited by Ms. Katija Gavranich Camargo, President of the Society of Friends of Dalmatia from São Paulo, Brazil. Accompanied by her husband, Georgije Bačić, a director and documentary filmmaker of Croatian descent, and her son Gabriel, Ms. Gavranich Camargo reconnected Brazilian Croats with their homeland.

The Bačić family traces its roots to Blato on the island of Korčula, a place that, this year, marked the 100th anniversary of emigration of Croats from the island. Their family also participated in this year’s Brazilian Days in Pula, where Mr. Bačić held film workshops for pupils and students and presented three of his documentaries.
During the meeting with the Director of the Croatian Heritage Foundation, cooperation was agreed on the project A Century of Emigration of Croats to Brazil, as part of which, after Pula, the Brazilian Days event will be organized on Korčula and in Zagreb.
This visit further confirms the strong cultural and family ties between Croatia and its community in Brazil, which successfully continue to develop through joint projects.
