Days of Eugen Buktenica are held from August 25 to August 27, 2022 as part of the Cultural Summer on the island of Šolta. The Croatian Heritage Foundation invites all Croats outside the Republic of Croatia, especially those descended from the island of Šolta, to join this network of Croatian naïve art lovers and join this valuable program.

The story of Eugen Buktenica Đenko https://vickobuktenica.com/eugen-buktenica has long outgrown the confines of the island of Šolta, and with his specific artistic expression in the manner of Dalmatian naïve art marine motifs, this painter made a great contribution to the artistic direction that has become a Croatian brand. Vicko Buktenica continued on Đenko’s path and this program is one of the threads that weave the development of the island through culture in the direction of the Dalmatian Naïve Art Center.

As part of the ceremonial opening of the entire event on August 25, 2022, the Fraternity House will also include the opening of the exhibition titled Podravska idila (Podravina Pastoral) on Šolta, authored by Mirko Horvat from Kloštar Podravski, an exhibition of a selection of works by Šolta naïve art painters, and an appropriate cultural and artistic program.

Little school of naïve art includes two art workshops on August 26 and August 27 led by Vicko Buktenica and guests Ankica and Ante Karačić. It will be an interesting trip in the promotion of the original Croatian cultural heritage.
