This is the tenth consecutive year that the Libertas Foundation has provided aid to pupils of vocational schools. The scholarship recipients from Konavle, Korčula, Mljet, Mokošica, Dubrovnik and Dubrovačko primorje expressed their gratitude for the cheques they have received and for the care shown by our emigrants for the old country and its youth.

 

Lucy Hazdovac, a member of the board of the Ante & Evelyn Mrgudić Foundation of the Libertas Foundation of San Pedro California, presented ten scholarships for the 2012/2013 academic year on October 10 to pupils of trade schools of Dubrovnik-Neretva County.
This is the tenth consecutive year that the Libertas Foundation has provided aid to pupils of vocational schools in Dubrovnik-Neretva County, and the goal of this scholarship is to encourage young people to stay in rural parts of the county, motivate them towards better learning and to provide financial aid to indigent families.
The presentation of these valuable monetary donations was held in the premises of the DEŠA association in Dubrovnik. DEŠA president Jany Hansal welcomed those on hand, and thanked the Libertas Foundation for their selfless assistance to young people and their care for the schooling they will receive.

This year’s scholarships went to Katarina Dragojević of Vela Luka, Marijo Cvjetković of Grude, Mladen Franić and Leo Radulj of Mljet, Josip and Antun Kvestić of Dubrovnik, Ante Lalić and Ante Listar from Mokošica, Valentina Mikešina of Korčula, Ana Panić of Vela Luka and Mario and Marko Vodopija of the Dubrovačko primorje region.
The scholarship recipients, future tradespeople from Konavle, Korčula, Mljet, Mokošica, Dubrovnik and Dubrovačko primorje (5 cooks, 2 confectioners, 2 stonemasons, 1 electromechanical engineer and 1 electrical engineer) expressed their gratitude for the cheques they have received and for the care shown by our emigrants for the old country and its youth.
