The descendants of the family of Santiago Uskoković Sirgo wore white, those of Gregor Uskoković Sirgo wore blue and the descendants of Marko Uskoković Ivanković wore red. This was no coincidence – the intention was to form the colours of the Croatian flag.

The news comes from Guayaquil in Ecuador, where all the members of the broader Uskoković family gathered on the 2nd of September. They have lived here from the late 19th century when they migrated from the Dubrovnik region.
Most that came to the family reunion hail from the Guayas province, while others made the trip from places like Bahie de Caraquez and Chone.

The initiative for the gathering came from Hernan Uskoković, who wished to gather all of the descendants that had migrated to Ecuador as far back as 1880. Two e-mail messages were enough to bring them all together.
