The head of the Pula branch office of the Croatian Heritage Foundation Ana Bedrina and the rector of the Juraj Dobrila University of Pula Dr Alfio Barbieri organised lectures featuring Davor Pavuna DSc.
Internationally recognised Croatian physicist and Swiss resident Dr Davor Pavuna is now also gaining recognition in the Croatian coastal region of Istria and its largest town of Pula. Responding to a growing number of requests from people in Pula and across the Istrian peninsula, the head of the Pula branch office of the Croatian Heritage Foundation Ana Bedrina and the rector of the Juraj Dobrila University of Pula Dr Alfio Barbieri, organised an event in Pula on January 19th of this year featuring Davor Pavuna DSc
A lecture for students was held in the morning under the title “Do you have a vision? – Space-Science-Man”, following in the evening with an event for the broader public on “How to Survive.”
Speaking to students, Pavuna expressed his dismay with the latest wave of young educated people emigrating from the country. The evening event on “Space-Man-Consciousness: How to Survive?” was staged at the large auditorium of the Croatian Veterans Centre. Surprisingly the large auditorium’s 450-seat capacity was too small for everyone who wanted to come and hear this well-known physicist and patriot. With additional chairs and standing room the lecture was held before some eight hundred people. Also on hand for the lecture was Monsignor Dr Dražen Kutleša and retired bishop Monsignor Ivan Milovan.
A short introductory speech and welcome was given by the head of the Pula branch office of the Croatian Heritage Foundation Ana Bedrina.
In his lecture Pavuna focused largely on the topics of economic malversation and the re-zoning and sale of large swaths of the coastline at locations attractive to the tourism industry. He also presented a broad range of his work as a researcher and expounded his vision of a solution for many economic and social problems to the broad approval of the gathered audience.
