The Pomurje Croatian Culture Association in neighbouring Slovenia staged this year’s Week of Croatian Culture in Lendava from the 19th to 21st of September. The event aims to promote Croatian culture and preserve the ethnic roots of the local Croatian community.
This culture event opened with the presentation of Rebeka Mesarić Žabčić’s and Sonja Tošić Grlač’s book Mirisi i okusi međimurskog zavičaja u iseljeništvu (“The Aromas and Flavours of the Native Međimurje in the Diaspora Communities”). Ms Tošić Grlač heads the Međimurje County administrative department for healthcare and social welfare. The 20th saw Slađana Matić Trstenjak and Marijana Mirta open the Svetlobe (“Lights”) exhibition at the synagogue in Lendava, open through to the 31st of October.
