The Agostina Piccoli Foundation has established the Fondacione Piccoli Prize, awarded for achievements in culture and the arts related to the language, traditions and the history of the Croatian community of the Molise region in Italy.
The competition runs through to the 3rd of August 2014.
The prize was established with the objective of raising awareness of our linguistic, historical and cultural heritage through the mass media, thereby promoting the interests of our community, with a particular emphasis on its status as a special linguistic minority.
Types of prizes: The Literature Prize and the Little Artist Prize. All works in prose (articles, essays, narratives, novels, short stories etc.) and poetry in the Molise dialect of Croatian shall be taken into consideration. Works in prose and verse may be in the Croatian or Italian languages. The Little Artist Prize is awarded to competitors up to the age of 12. Works of art and literature may be entered into the competition.
The competition is open to all and closes on the 3rd of August. Only works that have not previously been published shall be considered. Please indicate on the cover which prize the work is competing for (the Literature Prize of the Little Artist Prize). The submitted work should be accompanied with the name, surname and address of the competitor and, if required, additional explanations or notes related to the work. The panel of judges shall be comprised of five members: the president of the Agostina Piccoli Foundation from Mundimitar; representatives of associations from the towns of Filič (San Felice del Molise) and Kruč (Acquaviva Collecroce), a Croatian language expert and an expert in the field of pedagogy.

The three winning authors will receive commendations. The author of the first prize submission in the Little Artist Prize category will receive a prize suitable to his or her age and interests (e.g. a book, travel, computer accessories etc.) The winning submission, and others selected submissions, will be published in a literary collection published by the Agostina Piccoli Foundation. Following the award ceremony the Foundation reserved the right to, as required, use the literary and art submissions with the objective of promoting the interests of the life and culture of the Croatian community in Molise.
