The Nikola Tesla Association: Genius for the Future (www.unt-genius.hr) staged a three-day event to celebrate the 164th anniversary of the birth of Croatian-born scientific genius Nikola Tesla. Part of the Tesla & Friends project was the 7th Nikola Tesla Day of Science, Technology and Innovation celebrated on the 10th of July. The event was hosted by the Hotel Esplanade in Zagreb and included the annual Nikola Tesla: Genius for the Future awards ceremony.
The event included a performance by opera singer Sandra Bagarić, accompanied by Darko Domitrović and youthful cellist Lana Lucija Horvatić.
Scholars and academics were on hand to speak of the massive contribution to humanity made by Nikola Tesla. The participants of a panel discussion on Tesla’s inventions and patents as the foundation for the 21st century economy pointed to the inexhaustible source of Tesla’s discoveries in the current and future shaping of our lives. Among the event participants was the Croatian Heritage Foundation.
In the face of the imposed epidemiological restrictions Tesla’s well-known sentiment “We are all one. People are interconnected by invisible forces” resounded among the reduced gathering and lent to the sense of togetherness inspired by Tesla’s ideas and visions of humanity.
