Exhibition organiser Maja Mozara of the Croatian Heritage Foundation said that the exhibition would also be presented this summer at galleries in Ston and Trogir. On hand to discuss the work of these artists was Zagreb-based art historian Stanko Špoljarić.

A joint exhibition featuring the work of painters Ante Kolendić and Mišo Babić, who live and work in the Austrian capital of Vienna, opened on the warm summer evening of June 23rd at the atrium of the Dominican monastery.
The exhibition was opened with emotional words from friar Stjepan Krasić and turned into a first-class culture event with ovations for the performance of Mladen Jakišić, a leading singer with the Vienna State Opera.
Born in Luka near Ston, Ante Kolendić received his education in Dubrovnik; her learned the trade of the kalafat (a traditional master wooden boat builder) from his grandfather and received his first instruction in painting from Dubrovnian painter Josip Škerljo. He has lived in Vienna since 1987 where he met Mišo Babić – Kolendić continues to work in Babić’s atelier perfecting his technique as a painter. In 2004 he opened a gallery in Vienna and a workshop producing unique frames and gilding. Academy educated painter Mišo Babić was born in Bosnia-Herzegovina, graduated from the Fine Arts Academy (ALU) in Sarajevo. From 1979 to ’89 he worked in Paris, then moved to Italy in 1992. Since then he has worked as a freelance artist in Vienna.
