The screening of a short film by Branka Bezić Filipović on the life of this major Chilean writer of Croatian extraction was followed by a presentation by the students on her literary oeuvre and work as a journalist. They recited several Croatian and Spanish excerpts from her books. The event closed with a video feed via Skype with Pepita Turina’s daughter Karen Turina, who lives and works in distant Chile. She expressed her gratitude and said she was happy with this gesture on the part of the organisers. Karen Turina noted that the diaspora community in Chile is informed of this event, staged on her mother’s birthday.
