Daria Krstičević, head of office at the State Office for Croats Abroad, the high patron of the conference, presented the Future Leaders Award to recipients: Natalie Beg, Canada; Nini Skočak, Croatia; Mateji Kovač, Croatia; Julija Moguš, Canada and Emma Moguš, Canada.

An awards ceremony was held on the 8th of March at the closing of the Advancing Women, Advancing Economies, Achieve Your Potential conference to present the Croatian Women of Influence and Future Leaders Awards.
The award winners are women of Croatian extraction from Australia, Canada, Croatia, the United States of America, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom: Ljubica Cimera (Australia), president of the Katarina Zrinski Australian-Croatian Women’s Association; Bernadette Luketich (USA) of the Croatian Fraternal Union; Brenda Brkušić (USA), an executive producer with PBS SoCal; Vlatka Hlupić (UK), founder and CEO of The Management Shift; Diana Juričević (Canada), British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal; Dr Katarina Školnik-Aleksa (Canada), a research associate with The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto; Maria Ramas (USA), executive director of Slavenska Dance Preservation, Karen Oremuš (Canada), assistant dean at the College of Arts and Creative Enterprises, Zayed University, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; Tena Štivičić (UK), playwright.
The recipients from Croatia are: prof. Iva Tolić DSc, senior research group leader at the Ruđer Bošković Institute; Ana Sunčana Smith DSc, a researcher with the Ruđer Bošković Institute; Dunja Samec DSc, a researcher with the Ruđer Bošković Institute and Washington State University; Antonija Spajić, founder of the Naša Djeca association of Vinkovci; Antonija Trupinić, a fighter pilot and instructor with the Croatian Armed Forces.

The conference is organised by the Croatian Women’s Network, a platform that assists in advancing and empowering women. The Croatian Women’s Network and the Croatian Women of Influence Award identify and link prominent women of Croatian extraction across the world with the aim of inspiring youth with their achievements and success and helping them to achieve their full potential.
