As one of its chief sponsors, the Zagreb-based Croatian Heritage Foundation has supported this excellent film festival from its first days
For the 19th consecutive year the Days of Croatian Film festival will be staged in Orašje – from September 6th to 12th. The festival will kick off with director Kristijan Milić’s movie “Broj 55” (“Number 55”). Over the seven days of the festival there will be screenings of six films made in Croatia and one from Bosnia-Herzegovina. The Croatian Heritage Foundation of Zagreb has supported this festival from its beginnings, as one of its chief sponsors ensuring that film reels from Pula make their way to Orašje. The working motto of this year’s festival is “Poplavljena Posavina” (Flooded Posavina). Following the premiere, guests will gather on the Sava River levee in the town centre of Orašje for a multimedia presentation of the devastating floods that have hit the Posavina region.
After the Pula film festival the movie reels move to Orašje, and the people of Posavina will have an opportunity to view the latest Croatian movie production. The gala opening is set to feature top figures from the culture scene and society in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia. As usual, many guests are expected from the cream of Croatian cinema. All of the screenings are to be held at the Orašje movie theatre.
The film festival will be declared officially open by Municipality of Orašje mayor Đuro Topić. For a full week the people of Orašje and the many friends of the festival will revel in the best Croatian cinematic production of the past year.
