The ball in Trajštof was opened by the Tamburica Poljanci ensemble and also featured performances by the Pletari and Pinkica bands. This year again saw an excellent turnout for the event with special guests including Croatian ambassador Vesna Cvjetković and consul Niki Berlaković.
The final ceremony for the Večernji List annual Domovnica award will be staged on Saturday, March 4th, at the Kurhaus congress hall in Bad Homburg near Frankfurt am Main. Awards will be conferred to the top male and female athletes, the best amateur sports team, the best male and female musicians, singers and actors, the top event of the year and the most successful Croatian association and person of the year

Joining Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović at this traditional gala event hosted by the Prsten Association were science and education minister Pavo Barišić, MP Drago Prgomet representing the prime minister, state secretaries Zvonko Milas and Zdravka Bušić and the ambassador of Bosnia-Herzegovina Renata Paškalj. Also among the special guests were former Croatian president Ivo Josipović and the Croatian member of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina Dragan Čović, joined by many other guests and dignitaries from Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Austria and Germany.
The batana ecomuseum project is a unique approach to preserving the complete tangible and intangible heritage of the Croatian coastal town of Rovinj. The batana, a traditional wooden boat, was inscribed in the Croatian register of cultural property in 2008.
Viliam Pokorny, a leader in preserving Croatian identity in Slovakia, was buried on the 28th of November in Devinsko Novo Selo, Slovakia. He was the founder of the Croatian Culture Association in Devinsko Novo Selo and was also among the founders of the Croatian Culture Federation in Slovakia. He launched the magazine Hrvatska Rosa, wrote plays and poetry and collected aphorisms, which he carved into wooden spoons and boards.
The 4th Games are organised by the Croatian World Congress and the State Office for Croats Abroad and will be held in Zagreb from the 18th to 21st of July 2017. Registration for competitors is open through to the 28th of February 2017.

The book is published by Udruga OS, and is conceived as a series of thirty-nine prose miniatures in alphabetical order, forming the backbone of diverse events and experiences of the heroine and the many actors in her story. The cover art is by Patricio Alejandro Aguero, a resident of Zagreb with roots in Venezuela.
