18th Croatian Minorities Forum

Serving as chief rapporteur and moderator of the gathering was Robert Skenderović, president of the Scientific Council of the Croatian Institute for History. The gathering was welcomed by CHF director Marin Knezović, who declared the Forum open. Our head of publishing gave a report on the aspects of cooperation the CHF nurtures with the Croatian minority communities. The gathered were also greeted by Petar Barišić, deputy to the head of the States Office for Croatians Abroad.

 

Autumn issue of Matica magazine available

This year’s eleventh issue features articles on a new volume of the Distinguished Croatian Scientists in the World series, the celebration of Croatian Community Day in Serbia, the continuing emigration trend in Croatia and the 100th anniversary of the Croatian Home in Farell (USA).

 

IX meeting of Croatian minority writers with writers in Croatia

The two-day event is organised by the Franjo Glavinić Croatian Culture Society, the Rovinj chapter of Matrix Croatica and the CHF’s Pula branch office. Participating were Zvonimir Deković (Montenegro), Ljubica Kolarić-Dumić  (Croatia-Serbia), Romina Floris (Italy), Tomislav Milohanić (Croatia), Antonio Sammartino (Italy), Šimun Šito Ćorić (Switzerland), Ana Šoretić (Austria), Adrijan Vuksanović (Montenegro), Đuro Vidmarović (Croatia), Miroslav Sindik (Montenegro), Desa Matijević (Montenegro) and Alojz Štoković (Croatia).

Young Chilean painter opens exhibition

Joining the artist at the opening of her Two Homelands exhibition, opened by the Chilean Ambassador to Croatia, were here parents and sister from Chile, relatives from London and professors and friends from the Faculty of the Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb.
