This year's 3rd issue of Matica magazine
came off the presses in mid March, as
usual bringing an abundance of fascinating
articles from the homeland and abroad.
The cover photo features Gundulić's
Dream, a painting by Croatian master
painter Vlaho Bukovac from the feature
article on this unique Croatian artist,
whose works were recently exhibited
at the Klovićevi dvori Gallery. We also
write about the recent presentation
of the Croatian Emigrant Almanac at
the CHF premises. There are also articles
about the establishment of the Sisak
diocese and on the opening of the Museum
of Krapina Neanderthals. In this issue
you can also read an interview with
Branko Horvat, the president of the
Croatian National Council in Serbia.
Dear Matica magazine
readers around the world, it is in
your interest and ours that our monthly
records every notable event from the
places you live. We invite you, therefore,
to work with us. Write us news items
and send photos – work with us in
creating the content of Matica magazine,
by writing about what you would like
to read about. Let's make Matica a
real bridge of Croatian unity.
